Why choose us

A coating is only as good as the surface under it

Almost every anti skid failure comes back to preparation. A coating applied over a contaminated, polished or unsound substrate will lift within months, however good the product is. We shot blast or grind back to a sound surface, repair what needs repairing, prime it correctly and then apply the system — which is why our coatings are still gripping when others have peeled.

We treat ramps, decks, service yards, crossings, walkways, stairs and industrial floors, in resin, epoxy and polyurethane systems chosen for the traffic, the contamination and how quickly you need the area back. Where the substrate is beyond coating, we will tell you that instead of taking the order.

  • Free site survey and a fixed price against a written scope
  • Operatives on site within the hour for reactive works
  • Site specific RAMS, permits and insurance issued before mobilisation
  • Rapid cure options so areas reopen the same day
  • Photographic records and a handover pack on completion
  • Single point of contact from survey through to sign off

In detail

What our anti skid coating services cover

Every job starts with the substrate and the slip risk, not the product. Below is what we treat, how we prepare it and the systems we use to get the friction value the area needs.

Ramps, decks and vehicle areas

Gradients, entrances, exits and junctions are where tyres let go first. High friction surfacing shortens stopping distances and holds grip in the wet, on multi storey ramps, car park decks, service yards and access routes.

Crossings, walkways and stairs

Pedestrian crossings, footpaths, external stairs, escape routes and emergency access treated to reduce slip risk. Coloured systems define the route as well as gripping it, so people use the safe path rather than cutting across.

Industrial and warehouse floors

Anti slip systems for production floors, wet areas, washdown bays, plant rooms and MHE routes — specified to the slip rating you need and formulated to resist oil, fuel and chemical contamination.

Preparation, priming and repair

Shot blasting, grinding, crack and substrate repair, then the correct primer at the correct coverage. This is the part that determines whether a coating lasts five years or five months, and it is where most failed jobs went wrong.

Systems and colours

Resin, epoxy and polyurethane systems with calcined bauxite or aggregate broadcast, in red, green, buff and decorative finishes. Rapid cure options hand an area back within hours where closing it for days is not an option.

Repairs, recoating and re treatment

Localised repair where an area has worn or been damaged, recoating where a surface has polished with use, and planned re treatment programmes that act before friction values drop below target rather than after an incident.

If the surface needs repairing or marking before it can be coated, the same group covers tarmac surfacing, line marking, civil engineering, specialist cleaning and building services — on the same order and the same programme.

How we work

Four stages, from first visit to handover

Whether it is a single reactive repair or a full building refurbishment, every project receives the same structured approach, attention to detail and commitment to quality.

FAQs

Anti skid coating questions

How long does an anti skid coating last?

On a properly prepared substrate, a resin and aggregate system on a vehicle area will typically give five to ten years before friction values need restoring, and internal floors longer. On a poorly prepared or contaminated substrate the same product can fail within months, which is why we prepare properly rather than quoting the cheapest visit.

How quickly can the area be reopened?

It depends on the system and the temperature. Rapid cure products can take foot traffic in an hour or two and vehicles the same day. Standard resin systems generally need overnight. We will tell you the cure times before you commit, so you can plan around them.

What preparation is needed?

Usually shot blasting or grinding to remove laitance, contamination and any polished surface, then crack and substrate repair and the correct primer. Preparation is most of the labour on any coating job and it is what determines whether it lasts.

Can you coat an oily or contaminated floor?

Yes, once it has been properly degreased and prepared, and provided the contamination has not gone deep into the substrate. We use oil and chemical resistant systems for forecourts, plant rooms and workshop floors. If a floor is beyond coating we will say so.

Do you offer coloured anti skid surfacing?

Yes. Red, green, buff and decorative finishes are all available, and colour is often as useful as the friction itself — it tells drivers and pedestrians what a zone is for. Cycle lanes, bus bays, crossings and restricted areas are the usual cases.

Can you treat pedestrian areas and stairs as well as roads?

Yes. Walkways, footpaths, external stairs, escape routes, wet areas and washdown bays are treated to the slip rating required, which is often a bigger claims risk than the vehicle areas.

Is a site survey and quotation free?

Yes. Slip risk surveys and quotations are free and carry no obligation. We normally survey within a few working days and return a fixed price against a written scope shortly afterwards.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes, and Ireland. Regional teams cover single sites and national portfolios, including planned re treatment programmes across an estate.
