Why choose us

Surfacing, kerbs, drainage and markings from one contractor

VCNY Group surfaces commercial car parks, service yards, access roads and footpaths across the UK and Ireland. Whether the surface needs patching, planing and overlaying, or taking back to formation and rebuilding, we survey it first and tell you which it is — because overlaying a failed sub base simply buys you two winters.

Every job is laid by directly employed gangs with our own pavers and rollers, using SHW compliant materials, and finished with the kerbs, drainage and line marking it needs. One contractor, one programme, and a car park that is back in use when we said it would be.

  • Free site survey and a fixed price against a written scope
  • Operatives on site within the hour for reactive works
  • Site specific RAMS, permits and insurance issued before mobilisation
  • Phased overnight or in sections to keep the site trading
  • Photographic records and a handover pack on completion
  • Single point of contact from survey through to sign off

In detail

What our tarmac surfacing services cover

From a single pothole to a full car park rebuild, the work below is laid by the same gangs using the same plant and materials, with the compaction and material records your file will need.

New surfacing and resurfacing

Car parks, yards, access roads and footpaths surfaced from formation up, or planed out and relaid where the base is still sound. Base, binder and surface course laid to falls and compacted while at temperature, with compaction records to prove it.

Repairs, patching and potholes

Failed areas cut out square, prepared, tacked and reinstated so the repair bonds rather than lifting after a frost. Reactive call outs for defects that have become a trip hazard or a claim, with a permanent repair the same visit wherever possible.

Full depth reconstruction

Where the sub base has gone, an overlay only hides the problem. We excavate, rebuild the construction with the right stone and compaction, and surface it once — so you are not paying for the same car park twice in five years.

Reinstatement after works

Permanent reinstatement following utility trenches, drainage works and service diversions, finished flush with the surrounding surface. Covers and gullies raised or rebuilt to the finished level so nothing sits proud or ponds.

Kerbs, drainage and markings

Kerbs, edgings and channels set to line and level, falls and gullies that actually take the water away, then bay marking, hatching, disabled and EV bays applied once the surface has cured. The whole external package on one order.

Planned and multi site programmes

Rolling surfacing programmes across a portfolio, budgeted and scheduled in advance, reported site by site. Works phased overnight or section by section so car parks stay open and trading throughout.

The work either side of the surfacing is covered by the same group: civil engineering, line marking, anti skid coatings, specialist cleaning and building services — on the same order and the same programme.

FAQs

Tarmac surfacing questions

Do I need a full resurface or will a repair do?

It depends what has failed. If the surface course is worn but the base underneath is sound, patching or an overlay is the sensible spend. If the sub base has gone, an overlay will crack through within a couple of winters. We core or dig a trial hole where it matters and tell you which it is before quoting.

How long does a car park resurface take, and does it have to close?

A typical retail car park is a few days rather than weeks. We phase the work in sections or work overnight so most of the parking stays open, and tarmac can usually take traffic once it has cooled — normally the same day.

What materials do you use?

SHW compliant asphalt and macadam appropriate to the loading, laid at the right temperature and compacted properly. We will specify a heavier construction for HGV yards than for a staff car park, and say so rather than quoting the thinnest option to win on price.

Do you do line marking as well?

Yes. Bay marking, hatching, arrows, disabled and EV bays are applied once the new surface has cured, by the same group, on the same order — so there is no gap between the surfacing finishing and the car park being usable.

Can you carry out emergency pothole repairs?

Yes. We operate 24/7 and can attend quickly where a defect has become a trip hazard or a liability. We make safe and carry out a permanent repair rather than a temporary cold lay patch wherever possible.

Do you reinstate after utility and drainage works?

Yes. Permanent trench reinstatement to specification, including raising or rebuilding covers and gullies so they finish flush with the surrounding surface.

Is a site survey and quotation free?

Yes. Surveys and quotations are free and carry no obligation. We normally survey within a few working days and return a fixed price against a written scope shortly afterwards.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes, and Ireland. Regional gangs cover single sites and national portfolios, including rolling surfacing programmes delivered across several regions at once.
