A coating is only as good as the surface under it

Almost every anti skid failure comes back to preparation. We shot blast or grind back to a sound surface, repair what needs repairing and prime it correctly before anything is applied.

1hr

Rapid response

Attendance within the hour where a surface has become a slip risk.

24/7

Nights and weekends

Applied out of hours so the area is back in use before you open.

28+

Years of experience

Combined experience across high friction surfacing and anti slip flooring.

1

Point of contact

One named contact from survey through to final sign off.

How it works

No drawn out procurement. Most jobs go from first call to a priced scope inside a week.

Step 1

Call or send the details

Tell us the area and what has happened on it. Photographs and a slip incident history both help.

Step 2

Free slip risk survey

We look at the substrate, the contamination and the traffic, then quote a fixed price against a written scope.

Step 3

Applied and handed back

Prepared properly, applied in the right system and handed back — with rapid cure options where the area cannot wait.

Recent anti skid work

Ramps, crossings, yards, cycle lanes and car park decks treated across the UK by our own teams.

8 recent projects
Anti-skid ramp with yellow high-friction strips leading to a building entrance

Ramp Anti-Skid Treatment

Southampton

High-friction surfacing applied to a steep multi-storey car park ramp, raising skid resistance where vehicles brake and turn on gradient, and reducing the risk of loss of control in wet weather.

Anti-skid pedestrian crossing with white bars and tactile paving at the kerb

Pedestrian Crossing Surfacing

Norwich

Coloured anti skid surfacing installed to the approaches of a pedestrian crossing, shortening stopping distances and making the crossing point clearly visible to approaching drivers.

High friction surfaced service yard with yellow edge lines, hatching and bollards

High Friction Service Yard

Coventry

Anti skid treatment to a busy service yard where reversing HGVs and pedestrian movements share the same space, improving grip underfoot and under tyre throughout the year.

Red coloured anti-skid cycle lane surfacing with white cycle symbol and arrow

Cycle Lane Coloured Surfacing

Cardiff

Coloured surfacing laid to define a segregated cycle lane, delineating the route clearly from the carriageway while adding skid resistance for cyclists in wet conditions.

Anti-skid coated multi-storey car park ramp with yellow edge lines and directional arrow

Car Park Ramp Coating

Peterborough

Anti skid coating applied to the entry and exit ramps of a retail car park, delivered overnight so the car park remained open to customers throughout the works.

Red high friction surfacing on a signalised junction approach with lane arrows

Junction Approach Treatment

Plymouth

High-friction surfacing installed on the approach to a site junction with a history of near misses, improving braking performance and reinforcing the give way position.

Anti-skid surfaced loading bay with LOADING ONLY marking and yellow hatched edges

Loading Bay Anti-Skid

Doncaster

Anti skid surfacing to a distribution centre loading bay, providing grip for pedestrian and forklift movement in an area regularly exposed to standing water and spillage.

Red coloured anti-skid bus stop bay with yellow BUS STOP lettering and box markings

Bus Stop Bay Surfacing

Common questions

How do we know when a surface needs recoating?

When the texture has visibly worn smooth, when the aggregate is no longer proud, or when there has been an incident in the wet. Friction testing gives you a number rather than an opinion.

Can it be recoated over the top?

Often yes, with preparation and provided the existing system is well bonded. Where it is delaminating, it has to come off first.

How long does the surface last after recoating?

Comparable to the original — five to ten years on vehicle areas — assuming the substrate is still sound and the preparation is done properly.

How quickly can the area be reopened?

It depends on the system and the temperature. Rapid cure products take foot traffic in an hour or two and vehicles the same day. Standard resin systems generally need overnight. We tell you the cure times before you commit so you can plan around them.

Why do coatings fail?

Almost always preparation. A coating applied over a contaminated, polished or unsound substrate will lift within months however good the product is. Preparation is most of the labour on any coating job and it is what determines whether it lasts.

Is a site survey and quotation free?

Yes. Slip risk surveys and quotations are free and carry no obligation. We normally survey within a few working days and return a fixed price on the same day.

Do you cover the whole of the UK?

Yes, and Ireland. Regional teams cover single sites and national portfolios, including planned re treatment programmes across an estate.
